It takes a village to do what we do! Our village consists of our
Adoption Volunteers, our fundraisers, the Town and Country Clinic staff,
our dog walkers, our fosters, and of course, our donors. (Oh, and
Dr. Good, too.And as villagers, we can be proud of our results this week
since so many of our babies are reveling in new homes, thanks to all of
you! It's hard to think about the fate of these dogs had Homeless
Pets not taken them in.
Squirt, (now more formally known as "Darcy"), one of the cutest little
chihuahuas from the hoarding case. Her new dad has more tatoos
than one can count and chose Squirt from many more macho dogs at Harry's!
We loved his tender-heartedness for this sweet little thing, and he and
his family just worship her. Thanks to Joy B. for fostering
Squirt!!
Belle, a brindle pit mix puppy, barely in the program for a few hours.
Landon, one of the "L" pups, discovered at Harry's!
Cheeto, this precious chihuahua, lovingly fostered by Liliana, Juliana,
and PaulMajor, found a retired couple who thought Cheeto would complete
their home and family, and he has. We are so happy for this little
guy.
Flossie, a hoarder chihuahua and another Joy B. foster, caught the eye
of a Harry's shopper and today she lives in a home of her own, has her
own toys, and is the star of her own show!
Anne, the tiny blonde retriever mentioned last week, rescued from
Bartow by Kaye, Heather, and Rhonda, to save her from euthanasia, along
with another puppy mix. Her time in the program was probably a
record five minutes. Dr. Maria saw her come in, emailed a pic to a
friend, and her adoption was complete in no time.
Jewell, another chihuahua from the hoarder, went into foster care
shortly after arrival and was finalized this week. It's amazing
how many of these ended up finding permanent homes with their foster
families. We're so thankful we took them in because every one of
them would have been destroyed, and now they are happy and making
someone else happy too!
Ebony, a CAT!! Imagine a clinic clientk looking for a white
Siamese, only to be converted to a black tuxedo! Now that's
excellence in salesmanship. And they just love her!!! Paige was on
top of that one.
J Lo, okay we don't love the name, but what the heck. She got
adopted! J Lo came from the hoarder, but like her siblings Jackie
Oh, Nellie, Opal, and J Hay, were black/ brown shepherd mixes, not
chihuahuas. J Lo survived parvo and will now grow up in a loving
home.
Jay Hay, (yes we know, it was late when we named them and we ran out of
names), brother to J Lo, (same story as above). Came from the
hoarder, broke out with parvo, survived parvo at the Lake City Clinic,
and then got adopted by guess who???? . . . . J Lo's adopting parents!!!
Yes, they are being kept together so J Lo and Jay Hay will grow old
together. Rumor has it they are changing their names!
Smitty, another hoarder story. The chis just keep on coming,
don't they? This gorgeous little spunky guy is now they apple of
his new family's eye. His new mommy is a personal trainer, so he
will get buff for sure. Thanks to Wendi Peterson for being an
amazing foster mom.
Alfreda, a gorgeous youngboxer, again from the hoarder. She
is in the loving, capable hands of her new mom, a school nurse who
coldn't resist her!
Joanne, a rat terrier from Bartow county, discovered online by a family
who drove over three hours to meet her.
